> What do they need? Viagra so they stop watching TV?

LOL!

I'm not only tired of the overwhelming number of ads for drugs, but I get kind of annoyed by the fact that EVERYTHING is now an acronym. It's a veritable alphabet soup!

I do laugh, however, at the lists of possible side effects -- they should emphasize those, and no one but the most desperate would take those meds. But right now, my fil is in the hospital with anemia again -- and, though they haven't tracked it down yet, there is a good chance it is due to one of his meds. Was last time he had it.

Calling in dead -- hmmm... well, dh would like to on occasion! ;-)

These I feel are needed. Even with all the medical, school, and parents telling kids "Don't do drugs" - it is still happening.

Some of those commercials really drive the point home, though

Some of them can be ridiculous, though. I've never seen an anti-smoking ad that didn't just make me want to smoke a cigarette more than if I hadn't seen the commercial.

But the commercials for the other grades of drugs have improved considerably, I will admit. They've become more "Talk to your kids about why they shouldn't smoke crack" instead of "MARIJUANA FUNDS TERRORISM AND WILL MAKE YOU ACCIDENTALLY MURDER YOUR FRIENDS TO THE GREAT DISPLEASURE OF YOUR TALKING DOG"

I am annoyed with TV, period! It is not like it used to be when you could sit down and really enjoy a show, movie or program without tons of ads pushing their products down your throat.

TV definitely has become the new shopping mall for drugs. We have kind of become a drug-saturated society.
