it's easy to grow mini tomatoes inside also. You just need a big pot, potting soil, a stake and some mini tomato seeds/sprouts. they like a lot of light, either the sun or a grow bulb.

Yes Bob was in fact talking about getting one of those mini-greenhouse things with the light for my office, to grow tomatoes in. I love fresh little tomatoes! But I'm not sure where I'd put it. It's still a little crowded in there. I should work on that ...

Right exactly Jase!! That's what Bob wanted to get me I think. The one that has no dirt and has a dome type of top over it. My office just doesn't have a good place for it. But looking around right now I do actually see where it could go. He's going out to a Linens and Things tonight in fact to return something and that's where we saw it, and he has a 25% off coupon, so maybe I'll ask him to get one ...

they have two versions of it. I was the more expensive version since it is a little easier to set and forget it according to what i have read.

I tend to agree with bob on this one. With that dirtless thing, you have to buy their medium. So each time you want to use more you have to keep buying it from them. It's just easier to set up your own hydroponics if that is important to you, or just buy some cheap potting soil.

Well I still do think that a non-soil medium is more effective than soil, if you do it right. But I think we can create that on our own. It's just going to take a lot of work to hook up all the plumbing lines and such beneath the unit. I leave that to Bob
