My favorite cold remedy is hot lemonade. Boil one cup of water, add the juice of one fresh lemon, a tablespoon of honey and a dash of cayenne pepper. Honey is anti-viral and anti-bacterial and the cayenne pepper heats up your body, which, according to Chinese Medicine, will help burn out the cold germs.

I use this every time I get a cold. Altho I think the real key is to boost your immune system so you don't get colds in the first place.

I think you're right on with your comment about boosting your immune system in the first place. Thank you too for sharing your cold remedy. I'll give it a try because I love anything lemon.

Lemon is full of vitamin C so is very good for the immune system. I love it in tea and generally use a lot of lemon juice in cooking as well. Of course, that probably destroys most of the Vitamin C but lemon juice makes a great marinade for meats.

Lemon is great for you and delicious on so many things. I do find that if I use it more than two days in a row that I develop canker sores in my mouth. I think you call that a food intolerance. Anyhow, I avoid that problem by only using it every four days.
