When someone has that many animals and are obviously unable to care for them properly, it's a mental illness. They call it animal hoarding. They think they're doing the animals a favor, though they're really not, as you can see from the condition of the home they described. How sad. Often the animals are in terrible condition and unsocialized to humans.

Yes - it is sad....I really think they try. I just can't get over the fact that they cannot see when they begin to fail.

There was a lady with hundreds on Dr. Phil last year and having troubles with two neighbors. She had ten acres or more property and Dr. Phil paid for a lawyer for her. Not sure if they followed up on her yet.

We care for feral cats and it is getting out of control. At one point I was feeding 20 cats outside.

Now Los Angeles has a new law and almost 60 days to comply and I have to catch 5 6 month old kittens to get them fixed, their older sister and the mother.

It would be nice if you could just feed them a food that affected their fertility. Maybe a bit scary though, if it got out into an animal population where it didn't belong ...
