How about you?

Daiquiri?! Nancy, did you seriously see this used as a real name? shocked lol Oh my gosh...my friends thought I was crazy for liking Bacardi as a name. Wonder what they would think if I gave my child the name Daiquiri. LOL

I have a few strange names that I love. These are mostly names I have thought up myself along with a few thrown in that I have heard used before (don't laugh! grin):
- Cotillion
- October
- Moon
- Apple
- Rain
- Vertigo (yes, I love that word!)
- Van Helsing

And surely there is more. I used to sit around and come up with names every time I was bored. :P

Oh! An "interesting" name I heard here in town is: Thunderbolt. No, it was Lightening Bolt (all the same to me) lol

I know two Daiquiris, in fact. smile One lives nearby (she dated one of my cousins) and the other contacted me to be interviewed on my blog. Neither spells her name exactly like the drink name though -- they both omit that first "i".

Many people have the name "Rain" (or Rayne, Raine, etc.). I've also heard of a handful of people named October, Moon and Apple. (Well, we've all probably heard of Apple by now.) And there's at least one Bacardi out there -- in Georgia, born sometime since 1990.

So the only names on your list that I haven't seen used in real life are Cotillion, Vertigo and Van Helsing (Though I have seen just "Van"). And I've never heard of Lightning Bolt -- do you know if that one was real (or just a nickname)?

Lightening Bolt is real. I've seen the kids name in the paper and in the program for one of my cousin's christmas concerts.

Wonder what it's like to be a Daiquiri. Hmm If I were to be named after a drink, it would have to be an Appletini. lol

October is a beautiful name. I would definitely give the name to one of my children. That got even more strange looks from my sister. Cotillion has a very soft sound to it. As for Vertigo, it just sounds cool wink Bacardi also sounds very cool.

I will confess that I would actually consider naming my son Van Helsing and actually, the people I ask for feedback concerning that name seem to like it. I thought everyone would flip out like they did with Agatha. lol People are unpredictable.
