I don't know what I would want, but it ISN'T what I've got!

I have really fine hair, with stupid waves in stupid places. And I HATE the color!

I've had highlights in the past, but I can't afford it right now.

I grew out my bangs a few years ago, but my hair doesn't magically look good like I thought it would! At the moment, I am trying to decide what new thing to try.

My biggest problem is that I can't do much with my hair, so anything that requires skill to pull off in the morning is out for me!!

Isn't this a great profession, Jase!! I don't know of many jobs where we can have so much fun with our hair and our attire and still look very professional.

I think it's great that people will take you seriously, Jase, even though your hairstyle is on the more extreme side. When I worked as a woman engineer in the 80s, I was acutely aware that having a hairstyle that wasn't "professional" could hurt my chances of being taken seriously. Even though that could still be the case to some degree, I think things have changed considerably.

In regard to what Lisa mentioned about long hair, I have had hair as short as shoulder length but I have never gone shorter than that. Having long hair is such a part of me; it almost defines me. I can't imagine not having it. I feel so feminine with it. I love the feel of it brushing my back when my shoulders are bare. I love brushing it. I know it would be a lot easier but it would be a cruel punishment if I were told I had to cut my hair short. I often like short haircuts on other women if it becomes them but it just isn't for me.

I especially like to let it get long in time for the Renaissance Fair in the fall. It makes me feel like I am a true Renaissance woman.
