It just amazes me how many people lie on their resume. The Food Network just fired Robert Irvine, of Dinner Impossible, for falsifying information on his resume. The parts he lied about were having cooked for Britain's Royal Family and having cooked for various U.S. presidents. What was he thinking? He is in the public spotlight; didn't he know the chances of getting caught were high? And, even if he didn't think he would get caught, why did he do it?

That was the second time this has happened to the Food Network. They had a contestant on the Next Food Network Star who lied on their resume - wouldn't they have learned their lesson and check facts?

The Food Networks lack of checking facts does not Robert Irvine off the hook for giving false information which, by the way, if you are going to lie at least make it a little closer to the truth!

It is to bad though as I did really like him and his show.

I was just beginning to like him, too! He totally can cook and he's entertaining--so why would he lie about his experience? That is so stupid. I mean, now, I think he's just a moron.

Kitchen-Impossible was on the air before that season of Food Network Star (with the "marine veteran"), so I wonder if maybe they HAD started goig through resumes, and that's why he came clean first. So he could say it was his idea instead of being exposed?

It's a shame, because it really was a good show - although I might have been more impressed if he hadn't succeeded at least once. smirk

It is the entitlement that many people have plus a lot of them when caught if they do lose what they gained by lying they still get a lot of people in their corner so in addition they know they can one way or the other get away with it.
