You are very sweet. But i know i am lagging on the veggies and i don't eat much fruit either. Unless tomatoes count?

I am really appreciating how you are using the low carb forum as a way to help us all "tweak" (to use a good term from a friend) our lives. All the components are important - sleeping well, drinking water, exercise, getting fiber, eating protein, getting Vitamin C...what's next?

OK well we can definitely help you with veggies then smile Do you have a salad every day? I *highly* recommend that. Salads are so good for you and you can make them a different way every day so they're always interesting smile

I just got my fiber pills in last night! I went with Fiber Choices which is chewable (very important for me) and orange tasting. They say to take a maximum of 6 a day which is 12g of fiber. So that guarantees me 14g of fiber a day (including my EAS shake) then plus whatever regular food I eat.

Just to clarify a previous post someone made, fiber doesn't eat bacteria smile Fiber is a food. Bacteria eats fiber smile

Here's an article I wrote on fiber and gas!

I just checked - and, yep, it was me who said it backwards. Sorry! LOL--maybe my fiber is hungry, too!

LOL I can see it now, little fiber monsters roaming your system, eating the innocent bacteria they find ...

heehee, i like that too.

It's so cool that we have a discussion going about this. I am really paying more attention to fiber now, since the idea of totally eliminating the threat of colon cancer is very appealing.

I am now paying more attention to how much fiber dan is eating. I don't want him getting colon cancer either.

I never realized how important fiber was, that way. I knew it helped with weight loss. I love eating fiber actually - always loved oatmeal, beans and sprouted grains/cracked wheat stuff. And since that is the only carbs I am really supposed to eat long term, I have to just do some really careful shopping.

I was just talking with Bob about rye bread (which is high in fiber) and he says he loves it. So why don't we have it in the house! That'll be on our next shopping run.

In the meantime I just had him make me 2 grilled cheese sandwiches so I get in my fiber and calcium ...
