Thanks for the great article, Moss. This is a very important subject. We gave up saturated fats a while back and I cook with either olive oil or grapeseed oil now. Also, I check products I buy to see what kind of fats are in them.

OMG, do I have my home work cut out for me, so much to learn to eat healthier
just think it too me 60yrs to start eating better

That is such great information! We all definitely should be VERY vigilant about trans fatty acids and saturated fats in our food. It is scary how many items - especially junk food - are loaded with these things.

We try to never eat trans fats at all and to keep saturated fats to a bare minimum.

rosie-it IS better late than never. Making changes, even now, could affect how well you age. Statistically speaking, many of us these days will live to our 90's but how healthy we are when we get there is in large part due to our health habits during our life.

Besides that, in our younger years, our bodies can still recover from misuse-like too much junk food or no exercise-and keep on going. As we get older, in our 50's and 60's, sometimes even younger, the accumulation of years of bad living shows up and our bodies can't recover naturally anymore.

Cut your saturated fats to a minimum. Cutting them completely isn't necessary but please avoid them when you can.
