Have you ever been thinking about something, and then turn on the radio, and a song is playing that seems to confirm what you were thinking? Or maybe you were really upset, and then heard a song that brought you great comfort? I was having a particularly upsetting day a few months back. I climbed in my car, and I was literally in tears. I turned on my cd player, and the song that popped on was by Jewel, Good Day. "It's gonna be alright" were the first words I heard I just felt this feeling wash over me that told me it REALLY was going to be okay - and it was I know I'm not the only one who has had these experiences, so please share

What is that called Synchronicity or something? I can't think of anything specific but yes, both me and DH have had this happen.

I'm actually a big fan of Jewel's (not the I know everything about her kind of fan, an I own four of her CD type) and find her music really comforting especially the earlier stuff. I'm going to share with you a song that's been in my head for the last three mornings and plays over and over (totally not jewel related) to the point of driving me nuts. I'm not sure why the song is in my head but it's there. Maybe sharing it with you will remove it so I'll wake up with something else in my head tomorrow... Betcha on land they understand Bet they don't reprimand their daughters Bright young women, sick of swimmin' Ready to stand That's right Little Mermaid's Part of Your World. Sheesh

Yes Madonna's Frozen is one and the music by Barber:Adagio is amazing, if I need to cry and I can't I put that on and I do! Also many of Delarious! songs I remember one day feeling really down over something I did, that I did not like myself for, and a Don Fransico song came on, and I realized I did not have to condemn myself anymore. That was lovely

Yes Moe,that's definately a synchronicity I don't recognize the lyrics you posted at all. That can be maddening though - having something go through your head when you can't figure out where it came from LOL. I only have Jewel's recent album, but I plan on getting more by here. I, too, find her music very comforting.

Hi Nicola Jane,
I've never heard of Barber:Adagio. I'll have to check it out. Madonna's "Frozen" is DEFINATELY one! Ray of Light too... that song brought me so much comfort during a time in my life that was a bit uncertain. In fact, that whole cd is so amazing - one of my favorite of all time.
I,too, have found myself feel down about something, and a song will come on the radio and help me to change my perception of what's going on and I'll feel better.
Ahhh! The power of music.

Deanna,
Adagio by Barber comes on in the film 'Platoon' when Elias is being shot after he goes into the ambush, and throws his arms up and dies. It is so sad, I cry when I listen. You are right, music is powerful. Also interestingly I heard that Satan was the leader of music, before he fell. Weird eh?

Hi Nicola Jane,
I've never seen the movie, Platoon. It looked too sad, and I have an aversion to war movies :shiver:
I had never heard about Satan being the leader of music? I recently read that the angel Sariel was a musical angel, and that he's sometimes considered a fallen angel.
One movie that I REALLY loved the soundtrack from was "Contact" with Jodie Foster. Also, "Somewhere in Time." I could listen to those over and over. Actually, I do HA HA!
