I'm a night owler. I get anywhere from 6 - 8 hours depending on what is going on. I try to get as much as possible because my neurologist said lack of sleep could bring on seizures.

I have no problem sleeping what-so-ever. I love to sleep. I love dreaming.

I *love* to dream! I'll go back to sleep if I wake up during a good dream, to finish it up smile I have long epic dreams where I am a spy saving the earth and things like that smile

Sleep restores my brain waves and I always wake up ready to start again, as long as I have had at least 7 hours sleep. Having my lavender bundle on my nightstand really helps to calm and soothe me into a restful sleep.

I'm not really sure, my sleep varies. From 4-8 hours is my 'norm'. I can't say it's too restful, I tend to work in my sleep or have nightmares.

I usually get a good amount -- about 7 hours, or sometimes more. But I'm also a night owl, so tend to fall asleep and wake up a little later than most people.

Julie - work in your sleep? That hardly sounds fair!! I know I can have nightmares or bad dreams if I'm really worried about something when I go to bed. Maybe we need to help you find stress relaxation techniques before you go to sleep, to encourage your mind to give you more pleasant dreams!

Nancy - I'm a night owl too, I go to bed at 7am or 8am many times and then wake up around 4pm smile It's better for all my programming work on the site to do it late at night when my changes aren't affecting people ... for example I often have to reboot the server and I don't want to do that in the middle of the day!

I needed a proper sleep so badly that I used to weep due to excess or lack of it. I found a very helpful link that aided me manifold.

That's a shame, skyhaven! I find if I exercise that I can sleep far more easily than if I don't. So that might be something to consider ...

I needed to rotate myself around to a more normal sleep schedule so I can go to a native American museum this morning with a friend, so I deliberately kept myself up all night and day yesterday and went to bed at 2pm. I woke up at 10pm, then 11pm then midnight. Each time I simply closed my eyes and told myself to keep sleeping and I was asleep again in moments. So I suppose I have the opposite problem sometimes smile I have to be really sleepy for it to work though ...

I am a nite owl too. Always have been. 95% of all my jobs I had were either second shift (3pm-11pm) or the overnight shift and I cannot sleep during the day, so I am usually up to 1 or 2 o' clock in the morning now and then get back up at 6 or 7 in the morning. I usually do not get more than six hours of sleep at any given time. I know its not healthy but that is how my body clock is set right now.

Plus satying up late after the family is in bed gives me some quiet time to catch up on schoolwork and Bella stuff as well.
