Because we have a water softener I find my hair does better if I hardly ever use a conditioner. I find I don't have to worry about build-up or other hair problems associated with hard water. Maybe once a month I'll through a conditioner on for fun. I haven't tried a hair mask but I'd like to. Anyone ever try one they liked?

I've never even heard of a hair mask. smile

I shampoo in the shower, then use leave-in conditioner afterwards.

Masks are a spa thing. I found a homemade banana one here.

As a hairdresser and Nioxin educator, I use shampoo and conditioner and Nioxin treatment - all designed to keep my scalp really healthy. My hair is curly with a tendancy to frizz so I have always used moisturizing conditioner because it makes a huge difference.

Although I didn't mark it on your poll, I use a mask (moisturizing)occasionally because I use hair color. It keeps it in good condition and even makes the color look better. If I feel that I have done too much color and damaged my hair, I use a protein mask.

I use both. For the conditioner I alternate between a rinse out and a leave in conditioner. Years ago they had shampoo with built in conditioner. I wonder if they still do. Never understood it anyway.

I use an herbal shampoo and a conditioner. I often rinse my hair after a shampoo with a rosemary rinse that I make myself. I just simmer rosemary in water for about five minutes, strain, cool it to skin temp then pour it on. I love the feel of my hair after that.

I use both. Current research shows that the use of both jelps keep parasites and bigs out of our hair. Plus the conditioning helps ward off split ends, drying, and so forth. As a Farouqe educator (CHI, BIOSILK) we always recommend using both. My spa's color policy says we will not fix any color or chemical service if you do not use both. Shampoos and Conditioners are designed to be used together. The shampoo alters the pH of the scalp and hair, and the conditioner nuetralizes it. It is always beneficial to re-establish the proper pH level of the acid mantel.
