What's Your Favorite Specialty Channel Show?

I know my children would say the WWE Raw show on USA. My husband would go for Playing Lessons from the Pros on the Golf Channel.

Me? I don't know. It depends on what kind of mood I'm in. Smallville on CW, Wildfire on ABC Family, The Dead Zone on USA (until it was canceled), Paradise Hotel 2 on the Reality Channel. Some nights I become addicted to MTV's Next and Parental Control. I don't know why, but I have to know who gets picked.

I tend to watch the Space channel a lot although there doesn't seem to be a lot of "space" related shows on it.

We are big into the Food Network and HGTV at my house!

Though I dig the Hallmark Chaneel, and Lifetime, and USA.

And the kids love Disney, Discovery, and Boomerang.

I would love to have Hallmark and Lifetime. We've gotten some good crossover movies from those channels. I'd like to have HBO too.

Definitely the Food Channel with all the kids; Alton Brown makes the cooking they love interact with the science and chemistry they are fascinated with.

A few years ago I would have said Lifetime but they got rid of all my favorite shows that were on Sat and Sun nites and now I hardly watch them.

On weekends I watch shows on Bravo - this one about millionaire men dating and then Janice Dickinson modeling agency and on E! the kardashians.

I love on Food Network - Diners, Drive ins and Dives with Guy and my son likes to watch it also. I am waiting for the next season of the food network star. I picked the last two winners early on in the season and have only seen the girls show a few times and like Big Bite.

I love HGTV - house hunters, design on a dime, design to sell, what is my house worth and their design star contest and color splash and the style show is interesting and now I like it although the host and her outfits are distracting at times and the show with Candace is great and Ed Begley has one late nites but I cannot find it anymore.

Discovery Home - Neat is on Wed nites and it is out of Canada and I love that show. Oh and buy me on HGTV is from Canada and good one too. I also like clean sweep.

My son loves watching Discovery channel, animal planet, national geographic and noggin.

In terms of actual shows, it's a tie between Ninja Warrior and Unbeatable Banzuke...both on G4. smile

Around here, we like HGTV, DIY, Food Network, Boomerang, Disney, Noggin, Discovery (all of 'em), CNN, FOX News, and Game Show Network.

I'm a huge Food Network fan. Good Eats is my favorite. In fact I met Alton Brown a week ago...what an amazing and wonderful person he is!

I'm also a big fan of TruTV (formerly CourtTV)

Top Chef
Hell's Knitchen
Lifetime and LMN
I also like the channels that show the action movies. TNT not sure if that's considered specialty.
I had to cut the premium movie channels HBO, showtime, etc off, it didn't fit in the budget.

I used to say Bravo's "Top Chef" and "Project Runway"- but this past year's seasons have been big disappointments.

Now USA is really getting me hooked with "Monk" & "Psych". I also love wathing "NCIS" and "House" on there, too- but I know that is not their home channel.

OMG (as my daughter says)..I LOVE Monk and Psych!!! I own seasons 1-4 and I just bought 6. And it's funny I never watched Monk the first 2 seasons, but my daughter hooked me on it around season 3. Now I can sit and watch them over and over again.
You are SO right about Top Chef, I've become very disappointed in the contestants they are finding for that and Hell's Kitchen, usually I can pick a winner but they ALL seem to be bad this year.
But my sis bought me the Top Chef cookbook for Christmas and while I will probably never make the receipes, it was fascinating reading about the behind the scenes of the show. For example that they advertised on Craigs List to find contestants for season 1.

I read that this will be Monk's last season as Tony Shalhoub wants to quit after this coming year. I don't usually watch Monk when it's on during the week but have watched all the shows on re-runs when they do marathons. It's great!

that's too bad. Usually when a series starts to use big name guests, like Monk has for the past two, I always thought that was a sign that the series was about to wrap it up.

Food Network--especially around the holidays. I found myself watching a documentary about a gingerbread house competition last year. And I watched every minute of it.

SyFy--despite the silliest rebranding ever, I still like the channel. Ghost Hunters! My kind of reality show.

Discovery Channel. Well, what would life be like without MYTHBUSTERS?

The History Channel. Because you can never know too much about the Romans, the Egyptians and World War II.

Chiller--new to my cable company and already on the remote's speed dial.

CNN--Becaue I'm a news junkie and because when something happens, I want to see full coverage of it. (Maybe not quite as much coverage as they gave to Michael Jackson's death, but I can't really quibble.)

Networks? Who needs Networks?

I found a great online TV show that focuses on families that have children with special needs. Having a child with cerebral palsy, I often get overwhelmed with the daily activities. This show and the site has helped me meet people and realize that I am not alone. Here is there website:BellaOnline ALERT: Raw URLs are not allowed in these forums for security reasons. I don't know if USA or TNT count, but I like them a lot. I also like SoapNet.
