I vote democratic because the most important issues to me are abortion rights, stem-cell research, and the environment.

See it's odd, I want a politician to handle all of the things. I don't want just one or two things handled. But I guess the issue is that out of the candidates we have, none of them will align 100% with your goals. So you have to go with the one who "aligns more". So it's almost what negatives can you suffer with in order to get some things going in the direction you want them to go in What are you willing to "sacrifice"

That's a good point, Lisa. No one candidate is going to align 100% with your goals so you have to pick the one that is closest.

There is a really cool quiz at the On the Issues website that allows you to answer questions regarding some of the issues and then it matches you up with the candidate that comes closest to your beliefs.

For me, I know that someone who aligned with me completely on these issues wouldn't have a chance to get elected. It's an unfortunate fact of not being mainstream politically. The result is that I support those who I think will do the most.

Of the answers on the list, I'd say healthcare is most important, though it's a tough choice. I see healthcare as such a pivotal issue, though, because it begins to affect other areas - education, homelessness, the economy, etc.
