Great article Aisling! I remember having a dream or two about trains. They can be fun.

I remember in the movie "Dreamscape" there was quite a long sequence in the movie that took place on a train. It was trippy!

I also wish train travel were more common here in the States. I do want to take my kids on a short train ride one day, just so they can appreciate it

Do you live anywhere that has train travel? I lived in Seattle for a while and loved taking the train from there to Portland. Seattle had actually started using trains much like the Europeans--for commuting to work from places like Everett and Tacoma which are about a half an hour outside town. It was a welcome addition!

I live in Southern California, and I've thought about taking the train from San Bernardino to San Diego. It couldn't be more than a couple of hours, and San Diego would be lovely to visit by train as the traffic is so intense.

I've always wanted to go to Seattle. I went there when I was 18 and loved it. That was before Grunge and coffee houses took off LOL!

Dreamscape was itself a pretty trippy movie. Back in the 80s, it was my favorite movie. I recently caught it on cable (in December) and watched it again. It was still interesting, even 20 years later
