I've just had notification that an article I had published in Better Hearing Australia Dec-07 magazine has won an award.
"Your article on 'Travelling without a Disability', published in the December 07 issue of Better Hearing magazine has been awarded the Walter Backholer Award - Prose in the 2007 LITERARY AWARDS. Adjudicator Ian Gullen wrote,"An interesting account of a world trip, which came to life in unexpected ways due to the magic of the Cochlear implant ."
I am in good company too. An Australian Senator, Senator Natasha Stott Despoja has won the Peggy Donald Award (non-member) in the 2007 LITERARY AWARDS for her article "Time to give disabled a good hearing".
