Let's write! What would your character have in his or her closet.

Feel free to write a few words, a few sentences, a few paragraphs. You can write from any point of view you wish. Just take this idea and make it your own.

My character wouldn't have a closet, since she lives in a tent, but if she did there would be sixteen perfect white stones in it, at least by the end of the book. She'd have the small amount of clothing she owns, and various pretty things from nature she collects because she likes to collect things.

My character would have all the letters she's collected both to her and from her, for over 80 years. She would pore over the letters, and in doing so we could see her entire life and know every thought and experience that she had.

"Closet, what closet? You must mean the one my parents are talking about taking thirty-six inches from because it will make the second bathroom bigger. Now, that would be good thing if it meant I got to use the extra inches, but I dont. Its all about Dane this year, my 16-year-old brother. Suddenly he needs a bigger bathroom so that he can squeeze zits or whatnot. I think he just needs a bigger mirror!

My character doesn't have a closet, either. She has a wardrobe made from the hollowed out end of a very tiny tree branch, with a quartz point for a handle. In it she keeps her dresses which are recycled flower buds.

I have a scrapbook in my closet with pictures of me and my dad. He went to heaven when I was two so I don't have too many pictures. My brother Eric has more pictures because he's older. My Brownie vest is in my closet and Uncle Dave is taking me to the father daughter dance. Some girls go with their dads but some of us go with uncles or grandpas. But I'm the only one in my troop who doesn't have a dad.

Hello to one and all! laugh

I am new to the forum, and allready i like the energy and entusiasm that you bring.

Here is my own little contribution to the closet excercise.

My character is called Billy, and in his closet he has a hidden trap door in the floor. When Billy opens the secret trap door he goes down a set of ancient stone steps, inside a medeival castle. When he reaches the landing he faces two heavy oak doors with huge twin brass rings. Then Billy grabs one of the huge brass rings and he pulles open one of the heavy doors. What a surprise and delight that greeth his eyes and senses as he is transported back in time, to the thirteenth century. laugh

Hi, my name is Debbie and I am 10 years old. I once had a closet, but we needed space in the room so my Mom made my closet into my study area. When you open up my two folding doors, you will find my brand new desk with a matching chair on wheels.

This area is now painted bright pink, with a great big bulletin board listing all of my many activities and chores and school assignments. It seems almost every minute of my life is mapped out here. Even though my new closet is very pretty, I am not sure I really want to spend time there.
