If you try any, I'd love to hear your opinion. I really like the way they work and I like using natural stuff for the kids.

Teething: Dip your finger in whiskey and rub it on the gums. Works like a charm, doesn't get'em drunk, promise.
Upset tummy: Blackberry tea or blackberry wine. Try to get the real thing, not blackberry flavored. Children can have it in small amounts (see-tiny). Tea is best for kids.
Arthritis: 1 teaspoon of cinnamon mixed with honey each morning. Scientists have proven that cinnamon aids the ailment, will try to find the link again.
Constipation: Olive oil. Dip wheat bread into olive oil and oregano and enjoy. Much like the Italian treat of herbed olive oil and bread. 1/4 cup of oil.
Alternative constipation remedy:When I worked in the nursing home near us, this was a favorite remedy...1/2 cup apple juice, 1/2 cup prune juice. Warm in the microwave until it is warm to the touch, not hot. Drink. Normally works in a few hours, but can upset sensitive stomachs or be too strong for children.

2 remedies for bee, wasp, hornet stings and fire ant bites.
Baking Soda Make a paste with baking soda and cover the bite thickly. Leave it on until it dries. The baking soda neutralizes the poisons in the bites. If needed, re-apply. It will relieve the pain in a few minutes and reduces swelling and itching as well.
For fire ant bites, baking soda will eleviate pain, swelling, and itching if applied several hours after the bite, or even the next day. Baking soda also relieves the severe pain of a centipede bite.
Tobacco - an Oldie! For bee, wasp, and hornet stings, place a small amount of shredded tobacco from a cigarette or cigar in the palm of your hand and spit on it. Work the spit in and place the wad over the sting. It sounds nasty, but it works!

Here's one I always wanted to try, but my children would NEVER let me. I'm waiting for my husband to get a bad cough - I'll try it on him.
For incessant coughing: You need - a cheesecloth, a small yellow onion and an oven. Make thin slices with the onion and place in the cheesecloth. Wrap it up to make a self-contained package. Place in an oven set at 200 for a few minutes to warm up. Place on the chest and hold in place with surgical tape.
The author says her children have stopped coughing before she's out the door.
The book I read this in is Gentle Healing for Baby and Child by Andrea Candee with David Andrusia
