Becky,

I am REALLY happy for you. I know how hopeless this disease can be. I often say that if i had an easier time controlling food intake over my life there would be a good chance i wouldn't even BE diabetic. Yes, i KNOW it's genetic and all that. But i have always had a difficult time with food and my weight and if that had not been the case all these years i might have remained free of it. Please don't think i'm into self pity as i say this...the comment isn't about that. It's basically a comment about how hard it is to deal with weight and food when they have provided comfort (not just fuel) all these years.

Please let us know how it goes on Wed., Becky.

Just finished 2nd week of insulin....dr.is happy with my glucose numbers but not with the liver enzymes. they are up for even more from 2 weeks ago....nothing alarming but this is the 1st time in 10 yrs that they have gone up. I am going to san fran next wed to a liver clinic. Unfortunatly I gained 9 pounds in 2 weeks from the insulin. I think i just need to have my mouth surgically removed!

Becky,

I'm so sorry. I know you were so hopeful about this all coming together and it sure doesn't seem like that. And the weight gain must be really discouraging. Hopefully the liver clinic can bring it all together for you. When do you come?
