I don't usually work Saturdays, maybe one a month. Tomorrow is January's Saturday shift. And I was the doofus who took on two extra shifts this week already, including today! ... Then I voluntarily stayed late to work on a project... and offered to come in early tomorrow to finish it. I'm stupid.
It's also 1:25 in the morning and I'm still reading this forum. Speaking of addictions, does anyone else feel compelled to stop in and catch up at least once a day? Our forum is so active (especially compared to many of the BellaOnline forums) that missing a day means having TONS to catch up on!
Our Fridays, like most of our evenings, are relatively unstructured. We either pick up dinner on our way home or find something simple to make at home. We'll watch TV (we love Numbers, too!), watch DVDs (on another Firefly kick right now), play board games, or go to our separate computers. Again, this is most of our evenings. If we don't have pressing housework or errands, and don't have plans with anybody, we keep to ourselves in our quiet little home.
Our truly relaxing nights are the evenings when we have no outside obligations, and I've had the day off work. On my off days, I have the energy to plan and cook a good dinner and catch up on a little housework. He tries to get home a little early on those days so we have plenty of time to eat, talk and do whatever we feel like doing in a tidy home.
Before you ask, yes, I'm a closet Suzy Homemaker. I dig the domestic scene and love having a clean house and a set dinnertime and getting "Hi, honey I'm home" kisses. I'm just too busy working (and oddly, enjoying it) to have that. Work should be settling down soon, though, so I'll have some time to keep house and catch up on my writing on my off days. Yay!
OMG, I babbled and rambled my way through that one. Sorry, guys.

And GreyDrakkon -- I used to game on WoW EVERY Friday night, into Saturday, sleep 6 hours, into Sunday...man, that online gaming is addicting. Did it for two years. I so understand what it is to log in and quest and join others for hours on end. I miss my characters and my "friends" to this day. Gaming life can be so fun...you don't have to go anywhere, you're not spending much money (what, $20/month for the service + $20 for pizza?), you're not alone virtually, you don't have to worry about drinking and driving...the pros are endless!
I've enjoyed reading all of your posts -- keep 'em coming!
I don't do the computer gaming quite so much, I'm mostly old-school pencil, paper, and funny shaped dice. I used to game with Tress when we lived near each other, she's the one who told me about this forum. Glad you like my posts though, I'll try to keep 'em interesting.

Last night, we ordered Chinese food, played gin rummy (our new thing since I taught him cards) and watched TV, then fell asleep on each other on the couch. Tonight I think we're going to play racquetball. On a sidenote, you know what he mentioned this morning? Wait - back up a sec - on our second date, I wanted to dance after dinner, but he said he's not a dancer and doesn't care much for it. Ten months later, he says to me this morning, "Hey babe, why don't you check online for some dance lessons for us?" I about choked on my grapefruit spoon. "Like what kind of dancing?" I asked. "Like waltz," he said. That's when I jammed the grapefruit spoon in my eye to make sure I wasn't dreaming. "As in, ballroom dancing?" I asked, smiling from ear to ear. "Yeah!" I was so freaking excited, my first thought was to rent "Shall We Dance" and watch it tonight after racquetball.

Angela, you might have created a monster!
Ah, Fridays ... there are distinct types of Friday for me. Wintertime, Friday is my night to come home, call my parents in New Zealand and catch up on the goss, open a bottle of wine and get tipsy, kiss all the animals, and then pull snowboard gear out and get it all tickled up for the weekends riding. I can spend hours waxing, scraping and tuning edges - to the point where I'm often surprised to find that it's already 11pm.
In the summertime Friday is usually spent driving to the campground. With the days so long here in summer, you can arrive at 8pm, put the tent up, throw the ball for the dogs, get the fire going and grab something out of the cooler to eat and drink, as you stare into the flames and watch the sun go down.
In between seasons, when it's too early to camp and too late to snowboard, Friday is my night to do my best impression of a vegetable and go to bed early.
