What do you do on Friday nights?

I've noticed that since my early-to-mid 30s, I've started just crashing on a Friday, looking forward to sleeping in Saturday. This was different from my 20s when I still thought it was fun to go out on a Friday -- dinner, dancing, live music, etc.

Oftentimes, we have something to do -- somewhere to travel, even if it's just a road trip, or sometimes we go out with friends -- but do any of you have any Friday night hobbies/rituals?

Tonight, we're renting a movie and watching in bed with wine and snuggle time.

I am like you, Angela. My favourite thing on Friday nights is to be at home. Also my 21-yr-old stepson works on Friday nights so place is our own. We sometimes get "fish and chips" and curl up on the sofa to watch old Seinfeld DVDs or similar. Sometimes if DH is working late and I am energetic I like to do all the housework and change the sheets etc so as to wake on on Saturday morning with the house looking clean and amazing. It's summer here at the moment, so when I arrived home I went and walked on the beach (see NY resolutions in other post!!). Not very exciting but Friday night is truly my retreat night :-)

Hehh...I'm a huge geek. I play D&D 3.5 with my guy and a friend every Friday. ^_^

We watch movies or go play cards at a friends house. it is a great time to just let go and remember there is more to life then stress!

We often go out to eat and sometimes hang out with friends. By the time we get together, we usually just sit around and chew the fat for an hour or two and then head home for bed. Some nights we go to concerts, if there's something good playing.

*tears up* I miss DnD...

We're boring. We stay home, go to bed early and thank heavens it's the weekend. We sleep in on Saturday and wake up more refreshed and energized!

Usually Friday nights involve picking up some chips and salsa, or picking up a pizza on the way home from work, then coming home and eating, then either popping in a movie or watching hockey. Then, going to sleep and enjoying sleeping in on Saturday.

Once again, camaraderie -- sounds like we all take it easy on Friday nights in one way or another. Man, I wish it was summer here! In Texas, we're in the dead of winter -- bummer!

And GreyDrakkon -- I used to game on WoW EVERY Friday night, into Saturday, sleep 6 hours, into Sunday...man, that online gaming is addicting. Did it for two years. I so understand what it is to log in and quest and join others for hours on end. I miss my characters and my "friends" to this day. Gaming life can be so fun...you don't have to go anywhere, you're not spending much money (what, $20/month for the service + $20 for pizza?), you're not alone virtually, you don't have to worry about drinking and driving...the pros are endless!

On most Friday nights, DH and I go out to eat and then come home to watch TV or a movie. I'm not much into the bar or dance scene, we're pretty laid back. We're going out of town tomorrow morning though, so tonight involved running the dogs to the Pet Hotel (sure is quiet around here)! Have to try to get to bed early for EARLY morning flight tomorrow!

We are dorks. We usually get pizza or spaghetti take-out and sit at home watching TV. Tonight we went to MicroCenter (now there's some big fun). Came home, fixed salads for the bunnies, made tea for myself, and settled in to watch Numbers. Yep, that's pretty much every Friday/Sat night in our house.
