Wearing long hair down can be hazardous. Mine is only hip length, and I wear it up a lot. Otherwise the seat belt mechanism grabs it; it flies out the car window; it swings into the oven as I open it; etc, etc. When I feel like paying attention to it, it feels really good to let it down. It's worth wearing it up for how good it feels to let it down.

My long hair is putting a strain on my neck, causing permanent damage. xray at the hospital showed my heavy hair is pulling my head back causing my neck pain. started wearing it up also

I have long hair, and I wear it in a ponytail nearly everyday because...it looks great! I wear my hair down only on rare occasions when a) humidity is below 40% b) I feel like being a little more girly c) I'm not working

My waist length hair takes some handling, too. I wear it in a single braid at night and when cooking and gardening. Also, when I wear my winter coat it has to be in a braid or ponytail or half is inside and half outside the coat. The only time I really enjoy it down is after I wash it while it dries and after dinner because my husband likes it down.
