I've got a weirdo cat. His tail is normally over his back, like a squirrel. He's grey and looks like a panther (not as large)/squirrel mix. He even twitches it like a squirrel. He will "lay it flat" when he is ready to pounce on something (like my girl cat) or wag it when he is watching birds.

I know what you mean about that twitching like a squirrel thing. My cat does the same thing sometimes, usually when he's gearing up do some major flipping out. wink

My Russian Blue does the twitchy tail - my black & white shorthair does not. I have only seen this twitchy tail on the Russian Blue and not on any other cat I have ever had. The way he does it makes him look like he is spraying - but he isn't.

Yep, same with my guy. Since he was neutered at 6 months, he's never had the opportunity to start spraying, so it's kinda weird to see.

Maybe my Chaser is part Russian Blue then. Great to hear! And don't you love it when they flip out.

My Russian Blue was the wildest kitten I have ever seen. He will be 10 this summer and he has begun to mellow but he is still extremely active. My mom and mother-in-law have babysat him and say he swings from chandeliers!

You know, that is the exact same thing I can say for my squirrel tail grey. At 11 weeks, when we brought him home, he was a maniac. He ran and ran and wouldn't stop. He wouldn't let anyone catch him. He just played with anything he saw. We thought it was because he was in a cage at the shelter. Even our other new kitty didn't know what to make of it. He now loves to climb trees.

He jumps on the back of our couch sideways, like a stock car!

Thanks for the laugh this Monday morning. I wonder what would happen if we brought the two together. Look out world!
