In my opinion, black dress boots are like any other black dress shoe - a complete neutral. I'd say it's perfectly fine to wear them. The other way around; black slacks with brown boot, would not work as well though.

Of course! Would look hot with a cream coloured cashmere top.

It's really hard to say without seeing the complete outfit. I don't think I would recommend it. With brown & black pant combos, you should keep the shoe to match, or a color to pop. Always remember you are trying to create a long line, and this may not flow.

They say anything goes these days, but there are a few things we have to be careful with. Black and brown is very tricky. I would probably opt for a brown boot.

We should wear whatever we like - if you feel good in it you will definatly look good in it ~ no doubt about it ;-) Ive seen this conbo before, it does look great, especially as lila22 mentioned with a nice cream fuzzy top.

I think tan, caramel, navy blue or creme colors are a better alternative for your shoes/boots. However, matching isn't so important if all you are going to so is hide you feet under a table all night! Wear what you love and feel comfortable in!

For casual wear, a black boot with brown pants is acceptable, particularly with a neutral, light colored blouse or sweater. If you accent with a black purse and other black accessories - black hair fobs with rhinestones, black watch, black bead necklace or earthy black cord choker - you should look great.

For formal attire, always keep with the long line look recommended by Rebekah.

Sure, you can wear whatever is comfortable, but I like to save that look for sloughing around the house on a Saturday morning. I don't believe "anything goes," unless you are competing for "Worst Dressed Celebrity of the Year." Your outside is a reflection of your inside.

Go for it! As long as they're nice boots then it should be fine. Maybe give them a polish and make them shine smile

I do not need to see the outfit to know that it would work. Black boots (or shoes) goes well with anything because black goes with every colors.
