The Annual Report to the Nation on the Status of Cancer was just released and it shows cancer death rates have declined on average 2.1% per year from 2002 through 2004.

In women, important declines were noted in death rates from colorectal cancer and breast cancer.

The report indicates the declines are attributed to effective tobacco control, screening, early detection, and appropriate treatment.

This is very encouraging news!!
