Hello everyone I'm new here and would like to say hello to everyone.

Here is my question...What are some good foundations for oily skin? I want something that is not heavy and cakey on my face, even coverage, and not too expensive.

Thanks

What I did, was found some mineral makeup.. it did wonders for my skin! It doesn't seem to be nearly as greasy as it use to be.
It looks great if you put it on a freshly washed, lightly moisturized face and a few touch ups in the day but very minimal... I know there are a few, so called knock off brands out there, I have no doubt that most of them are the exact same thing.

I agree about mineral make-up. It's awesome!
It's so light and airy. It doesn't feel like you're wearing anything, but you can be confident you're putting your best foot forward.

Hi Synergy,

Thanks for the question. Foundation is a toughie. Without trying a product, you are really shooting in the dark. Especially with regards to color.
I recommend going to your local department store and stop by the Clinique counter. Average price $20-25 which is very competitive with department stores at $10-15.
You will have a make up artist who will help select your color, and address your concerns regarding oily skin and coverage. They have a chart that they refer to.
I hesitate on powder mineral make up. Many times, unless you have really nice, blemish free skin that needs minimal coverage it doesn't provide enough.

Hope this helps

Foundation is definitely hard to get right. I still haven't found something that I really like so I tend to stay away from it. I definitely think going to a counter is a great idea. I always feel more comfortable when I have someone helping me find what's best for my skin. Here is also a video that gives tips on picking foundation and helps correct some foundation application mistakes which might also be part of the problem. Good luck and I hope this helps!!

You're welcome! It gives good step by step tips on how to apply. I always find things like that helpful when it comes to makeup. I've found a few other helpful makeup application videos on this site. It's been a great resource!

I agree that foundation is hard to find the right one. My personal favorite is Mary Kay, they have a foundation for oily skin, I never personally tried it but a friend of uses it all the time and she says that it's the only one that she found that doesn't feel heavy, espically with her oily skin.

*Note: Not trying to sell it, just trying to help out.*

Of course. There are a few things that would work well on oily skin, depending on the coverage you want.

Medium Coverage Foundation, which controls oil for at least 8 hours. It is light weight, yet it lasts a long time & it doesnt come off on your clothes.

Dual Coverage Powder Foundation, This works as a foundation & a press powder. It is light weight & oil free, it works good on all skin types.

Creme To Powder Foundation, This is a 2 in 1 product. It goes on as a cream then dries as a powder. It is lightweight & oil free, it works well on all skin types.

Hope this helps, if anyone has any questions just pm me.

The best thing about these foundations is you can blend any of the minerals to get your exact match! Affordable Mineral make-up products are extremely fine minerals with great coverage, these products would go great wuth your skin! Let me know if you have any questions!

I had always had trouble finding a foundation that would not cake on my skin, cause spots or aggravate the "orange peel" and this got worse when I got to the menopause. I tried mineral powder foundation as it was often on the shopping TV channels and seemed to offer what I needed. I was so impressed that I now sell mineral products. They are light and sheer, but can provide denser cover if needed.

I just found out that Mary Kay now has a Mineral Powder Foundation, just thought I would pass this along, since I have noticed that alot of people here like the Mineral Foundation.

I agree with those wh are touting mineral makeup! I use the Avon brand, and now wouldn;t go back to any other foundation!

From the first time I used it, people commented on how nice my skin looked. It's also really easy to use.
