Herbs are wonderful! I grow them, use then in teas and cooking and also as natural remedies!

Looking forward to lots of great articles.

Thanks for answering! I love this time of year because I bring all my herbal things out and start making stuff for winter.

I made some infused oils this summer and am looking forward to making some salves. I finally have a baby's butt that can use some again. :-)

I've made some soaps and lotions out of my herbs and also at one time I made some really pretty herbal wreaths. Mostly I use mine for cooking now. Infused oils and vinegars are wonderful for cooking!

Oh I make this awesome chive blossom vinegar! Pick the blossoms as they bloom all season and put them in white vinegar. It gets a DARK hot pink color. Just fabulous!

I love making soap too! We have a lot in common. :-)
I will have to post some herbal soap recipes too. Thanks for the ideas.

I would love it if you posted some salve recipes too. That chive blossom vinegar sounds great. I just brought home some chive plants from the nursery, and I hope they do well enough so I can try that. Thanks!

Oh I would love to give you a recipe but I am sitting here with no books whatsoever! I keep notebooks with all my recipes in them BUT we are moving and the movers have already brought more than half of our things to the new place. Books included. Ugh. Its hard!

But I can say that one of my favorites is a combination of infused chamomile/calendula oil( I like olive but use sweet almond too)Thickened with beeswax.

This year I made some mullein infused olive oil that I am happy to have worked for. I had to find it wild, transplant it and wait until the following year for it to bloom. Geez...but I got a whole quart of oil so it was worth it. I like to add Vit E as a preservative and usually add some sort of essential oil.
Vague I know, but it depends on what I need it for.

I have a basic ones that I keep all around for boo boos and small stuff like that. I usually use clays for drawing and washes or fomentations for infection and deep itch.

May be I am getting ahead of myself here. I am just so excited to be talking about herbs.

Welcome Amelia! I will have to give the chive vinegar a try too. Just planted the seeds so it will be a while.
