Have you seen the new show on Discovery Kids called Hip Hop Harry? I can't believe they took Peep and Magic School Bus off for this and a monster truck show. They use to show 1 hour of Peep and Magic and now it is only 30 minutes of each.

We do not get Discovery Kids. I wrote about the new show on Nick that is being shown a lot - Mr.Meaty.

There is also a new one about Handy Mandy on Disney, but we have not really viewed it.

It is a big bear with a blue hip hop hat and a big necklace. He walks like a rapper and hums a lot. It is almost a Saturday Night Live skit.

Have you seen the show? It is like black face from the early theatre days. I dislike it because it makes fun of hip hop and the African American community. But I am sure you watch the show and disagree with me.

The show on Disney is "Handy Manny" (not "Mandy") and it is very cute!

It is about a little handy man named Manny and his little toolbox full of talking tools. It is about cooperation and being the right person for the job, even if you are not always the biggest, etc., etc. And it has a little bit of Spanish thrown in - sort of like "Dora" and "Go Diego" do.

I haven't seen the "hip hop" show, but I must say that being called racist by someone with the term "Cracker" in their tagline is a bit much! (I didn't know anybody even used that anymore). <img src="/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

I do not care for Hip Hop Harry either. I can see why they would create a show like this because todays kids will get into hip hop and the character is someone they can relate with more I guess. I never watched the whole show because I couldn't stand watching him stand there looking like a "gangsta" Barney and watching him rocking and swaying as he was talking to kids.

I am surprised I didn't see him grab himself, but then again I said I didn't watch the whole show. lol.

Handy Manny is a pretty cool show as far as cartoons go for kids.

My daughter is three and prefers shows like Sesame Street, Go Diego Go! Dora, Bob the Builder, Clifford, Curious George and the Wiggles.

I may be showing my age a bit here but they need to bring back quality tv shows like Sigmund and the Sea Monsters, H.R. Pufnstuf, Under Dog, Tennessee Tuxedo and they need to bring back School House Rock in between shows like they used to. (singing) Conjunction Junction, What's Your Function?...

Amadeus, if you get satellite tv, there is a channel on there hosted by the Cartoon Network, called "Boomerang" - it shows all the old (well older) cartoons that we remember. My 4 yr old's favorite cartoon? Tom and Jerry - go figure!

Yeah I know about Boomerang. I wish I could get it. That's what I thought the Cartoon Network was going to do when they first came out as well was show all the old cartoons. Little did I know it was going to be a bunch of [censored] for the most part.

Hey everyone! It's so funny that so many of us seem to have the same views on Hip Hop Harry. We don't like it here either, not even the kids can really get into it.
