A small fire in the oven (something boiled over and burned up in my electric range. It's all OK and I didn't even need the fire department.) Taking care of last minute hijinx with my college as I prepare to return after 21 years away from the classroom. Youngest daughter moving to the main campus...And that's just a few of the things going on around here. Add the characters of this science fiction novel that are insisting I get their tale down on paper.

LOL. I love being busy.

So, this is a test to make sure the forum is working properly. In case you are reading this and don't know Lisa Shea, we all need to give her a hand for her dedication to her site and writers and readers. If I spent as much time with my computer as she does with hers, my DH would probably be long gone. He already thinks I spend too much time on my computer.

Thank you, Lisa Shea! You are fantastic. And, no, I don't get paid to say that.

You're right about change Cathy! The more things change, the more they stay the same.

We're doing last minute traveling before my daughter starts her senior year in college, altho this is the first summer she didn't move back home. My 2 grandchildren living near us are growing up fast one my step daughter is preparing to get married next June.

I get paid for some of my computer time so I always tell my hubby I'm "working!"

Change is inevitable. Like the seasons of the year, we all experience change in our lives everyday. Watching my grandchildren grow up and hearing them comment on things that have changed since they were little is like going back through time and hearing myself say the same things. "Boy, when I was a kid, we had to take our lunch to school in a brown bag and we had no refrigeration then, just the cubbies in the cloak room." "What's a 'cloak room', Grandma?"

LOL. I had to laugh when you mentioned "hearing myself say the same things." Remember the things your mother said when you were growing up and you promised yourself that you were never going to say some of those things to your kids. Then we grew up. Had our babies. And as they grew up certain things were spoken in our homes...And when we looked around Mom wasn't around anywhere. Where did those words come from? Mea culpa. LOL.

"But Mom...whhhhhhhyyyyyy?"

"Because I said so, that's why!"

Gods, I'd heard those words out of my mothers mouth more times than I care to remember and when raising my boys......those very same words came out of me. Isn't it amazing how things change yet remain the same.
