My son subscribes to the WWE magazine ( now just called W, I gather ), and has the latest two issues - one with Rey on the cover, and the Raw/Smackdown History of Champions one.
An ad has run previously about a special issue, on sale at newstands JULY 17th, of wrestling's top 500. We have searched everywhere and it does not seem to exist.
Has anyone crossed paths with this elusive magazine? I wonder if they pulled it for some reason?
The people at W magazine's customer service number are extremely UNhelpful. The girl finally said " I don't know anything about the magazine at all, I just do subscriptions."

It sounds to me like PWI (Pro Wrestling Illustrated) as they have a top 500 every year. But I don't check out those mags so I'm not sure. If you've already checked everywhere you know, then it's probably something they never released. I wish I could help further.

That is what I thought as well. But the ad is in the new issue of W magazine ( with Rey on the cover ) on pages 74 and 75 and says :

Strange huh? We can find it NOWHERE!

Just found this on another message board -
"The magazine never hit newsstands anywhere and I believe they were all recalled and WWE just decided to cancel the issue. The reason they canceled it is because there was some stuff about Benoit in there and it was too late to get everything re-printed. The magazine might come out in the future under a different name (since September issue is #500), but I don't think that will happen until later this year. "
I had a feeling it had to go with Chris Benoit...

I agree. What Benoit has done is Loathsome. But, it does not cancel out his incredible wrestling career.

Each of us are adult enough to censor ourselves, should we feel that we can no longer watch Benoit's matches ever again.

I'd say that Mag will most likely eventually come out as NDNRU suggests, edited and most likely as a special stand alone/one off magazine.

BTW, I used to love the PWI 500. Do they still do it? Haven't purchased a PWI mag in years.
