Though most of the women say that they enjoy their old looking skin, the anti aging skin care business is booming. Any comments?

Age is something we all experience. But I will do my best to keep my skin healthy.

It seems to be human nature, generally, to want other people to think we totally like where we are. Also, we often think other people have fewer problems or disappointments than we do. We don't want people to see the chinks we see in our own armor. We keep our guard up a LOT and our mouths shut.

The skin issue is like a lot of the other ageing do-dads. People have been looking for a fountain of youth for quite some time. People have also been fooling themselves just as long. If we find something that works/does not work, we are afraid to share the results. Maybe someone will expose our "secrets." Too often we pretend when we could be honest and, perhaps, help someone else cope with life's curve balls.

To me, we'd be better off being honest with ourselves and each other. There's nothing wrong with trying an anti-ageing product, but we could be honest with each other and share the results. Do we really expect other people to believe we/they are not ageing? (To me, the drug companies played on our fears/insecurities all the years they recommended long-term hormone replacement therapy for menopausal women.) Arrggg.

Research has shown that HRT is questionable to use.

I think Americans are more obsessed with staying young looking that other countries. Perhaps someone from outside the US could comment on the the view of aging in their country.

I have found that getting older is like being in a club. We can all get together and laugh about the sags and bags. Since life is about much more than looks, I have to say my life is much more peaceful and spiritual than it was 30 years ago and to me that is good.

Well, you cannot grow younger, so it isn't a choice, I think!

HRT has actually be found to be dangerous to use long term. There was a huge long-term study which concluded that long-term HRT use is linked with higher incidences of breast cancer, cervical cancer, and heart disease. The people conducting the study found so much startling evidence that they announced their findings early. This led to a wide-spread decrease in the prescribing of HRT. This was about 2-3 years ago as I recall.

I think some doctors still prescribe HRT occasionally, but they use it way more cautiously and for less time.

Do you think menopause is different for women with children, and those who have not had children?

i think its because as women, society has taught us that when men grow old they're distinguished, when women grow old..they're OLD.

Anti-aging skincare, I don't see anything wrong with it if you EDUCATE yourself on whats available and don't buy onto the hype. Do you really want to look the way you did 20 years ago? I don't but mature skin has different needs then skin in your 20's.

Right now I'm doing research on anti-aging skin care what ingredients work etc. Its a big task and I hope to get that aricle posted in the next few months.

Aging gracefully and maintaining a more youthful appearance, I think, comes more from long-term health habits and attitude than from what you put ON your skin. A good skin care routine is essential but I think lots of water, vitamin supplements and a nutritional diet and exercise keep us young and prevent supposed "age-related" diseases.

If you feel healthy, you'll feel younger, no matter what the calender says.

Most definatley, I think alot of people think they can do whatever they want to their bodies but its okay because of this magic cream.

In general I beleive that it all starts from within, that your body is a temple, and your skin reflects that. So a good skincare program can work with what you have.

The way I look at it is that I much better want wrinkles, gray hair and everything else that come naturally with getting older than having health problems. I have not dye my hair for more than a year and before I did it it had been many more years since I had done it, I do not care that I have gray hair. Just like I do not care that wrinkles are showing here and there. I just do not want to get alzheimer or anything else that can happen to you when you get older!
