Hello,

I wanted to take a moment and introduce myself! My name's Megan and I've taken over from Jilly as the Hiking & Backpacking editor for BellaOnline.com. I've been hiking ever since I can remember and am raising my daughter to enjoy the experience as well!

At home in Canada, I spend as much time as possible hiking in the Rockies (which is a lot because I'm a freelance writer and my boss is as into hiking as I am!). I travel annually with my family to the desert and canyon country of the Southwest for a jumpstart on spring hiking and spend the rest of the year wandering around wherever the whim takes us.

Hi Megan Welcome aboard~

Thanks for the welcomes ladies - and Jill, lace 'em up and I'll join you on a trail! We did a spectacular early season hike that turned into a bit of a scramble up to an alpine tarn this past week. Alpine flowers already blooming even though snow lingers in the shade. Yes, the hiking season is upon us!
