Hi Nancy, I totally agree. Intelligence is not to do with academic prowess. Although it's a quality related to someone’s mental capability and skills, it's more about using the knowledge one has gained over time.
Yes, intelligence can be learned in part from what one reads, sees, hears, etc., but is more about learning from mistakes which is why it generally increases with time. Perhaps it’s more about one’s ability to understand issues and to be able to think clearly without reservation. I guess that’s why young children can often seem more intelligent than adults! Joy
