I like to use Wikipedia, too. Amadeus is correct about some of the facts can be erroneous or irregular, but most of that has been found to be true about current events or current people & stars and not history.
It never hurts to double check another source, like Britannica, which basically says the same info.
"Christianity -- Encyclopaedia Britannica
... of Jesus of Nazareth (the Christ, or the Anointed One of God) in the 1st century"
Chronology of Christianity
From 1 AD to present.www.cwo.com/~pentrack/catholic/chron.html -
Christianity - Hindu Customs in the Christian Community in India
... to have introduced Christianity into India around the 1st century of our era.
www.hindubooks.org/sudheer_birodkar/hindu_history/christianity.html I love what you say, because I believe the same and I think that it makes sense for us to follow HIM and to be "CHRIST" like, as we are Christians! I really think that is where the word first got started, when the disciples, who were jews, listened to Christ and followed him. They turned against many of the "old" jewish ways to be one with Christ. During the whole life of Jesus, He taught about inclusion: rich, poor, leppers, jewish, gentiles, all were included. All who heard Him and believed, wanted to be like Him, like Christ: Christ-like or Christian. It started right after Christ started his teachings, 1 AD.
God bless you!
