I recently signed up as a consultant for Stuffed With Fluff, which sells kits and clothing to make your own stuffed animals and dolls, as well as party packages for people who want to do a bear-making (or other animal) birthday party. Unfortunately, all the kids in my life are college age now, because I think if I had school age kids, these would literally sell themselves. For moms who would really like to work at something based on what they know and love and earn income from it, I think building an information-rich Web site is a great way to go. It can be an affordable, flexible, convenient way to earn money and allow you to work at home.

BUT...and you knew there would be a but, didn't you? It takes time and a LOT of hard work and determination.

I read all of the posts here and really felt that this could be a benefit to many. I am a work at home mom to 3. I have 2 sons, ages 4,10,and a daughter 4.5 months. I started working from home around 2 years ago with the intention of replacing my income from my part-time job. I have since done so, and I am now working on replacing my husband's income. This is not a get rich quick kind of opportunity. This is something that takes hard work, and motivation, as does anything worth doing.
I am with a group called The MOM Team. We are an amazing team. We help other moms to be able to stay home and earn what they need to for their family.
Honestly this is not for everyone. I really believe that when you find what you are looking for, you will know it. In order to be successful at anything, you really have to believe in what you are doing. I did try one of the more conventional home businesses before, but as you probably know they usually involve delivering catalogs, selling, delivering products, and collecting money. I was gone more than I was home, and really did not want to do anything like that ever again. Obviously I was not successful, as I really was not happy with what I was doing and didn't have a whole lot of faith in the company I was working with.
What I love about our team is that we actually help people improve their lives in so many ways. We never have to leave our home. We do not do any sales, or have home parties, collect money, or any of that stuff. We are partnered with a legitimate company who is registered with the Better Business Bureau. There is no huge capital investment, which is perfect for most of us, as if we had the money to make a huge investment, we probably wouldn't be looking to work from home.

This is the melaluca way of shopping isn't it??? I find the website not up front enough which is kinda sneaky. What I mean is, the lack of product information and neededing to talk to a sales rep to get anymore information I need more forthright information first.

I realize this isn't your site design and the marketing comes from someone else. It is only my opinion and others will need to check out your site to make there own assessment. So I do encourage others to take a look.

I am working on it, but it is a very slow process. If you are a direct sales rep you could benefit by writing your own review of the company you work for. It would need to include things like, Who the company is, what the products are, why you joined, what you like about it, what you find frustrating, how much start up costs are anything else you wish you knew before starting up. I definitely appreciate and respect your opinion. There is a really good reason we do not go into a full business plan on our website. We want to be absolutely sure that if someone wants to work with us, it will be a benefit to them. We never ever want anyone to be hurt, so we work very closely with our team members. In order to present a full business plan, it takes time, and really needs to be done in person, or over the phone. We are not sales reps in any way, we do not push or pull anyone into doing anything that they are not comfortable with, instead, we present the information during a phone appointment, and allow the person who requested information to make an informed decision based on the facts rather than reading through a great deal of information, and jumping to conclusions. Another great reason for actually presenting this to someone is that we are there to answer questions, so everything is very clear, and only good decisions are made.
I hope that clears things up for you a little bit....I do however appreciate your opinion!

Not asking for a business plan, asking about the product or what you sell to make money. Even without a product you sell something in order to make money.

A presentation is a sales pitch with a different word used. The marketing strategy is flawed as it breeds distrust that you will need to overcome in your sales pitch instead of breeding trust into a prospect which would make your close easier. It's not your marketing strategy, it is one that the company has taken.

see this just sounds like a waste of money. I never get involved with something that doesnt tell me what they are selling the whole mlm thing doesnt work if i dont have a clue what the product is and you site just sounds like well you buy in for this much and we send out the info and then you pay us XX$ and we train you then you recurte others to they site and so on and so forth but there is really now product and it is just a self help positive thinking training seminar that i could buy at the store for $5 tops. I dont mean to offende you but Why not say Hi am ...! and I would like to talk to you about Avon. I sale make up and skin care products and I thought you may be interested in hearing how this works and becomeing part of my team.

the biggest mistake most people make in sales is thinking that the prospect cares about your story.

in business you are not out to sell something per sei, you are, but you have to think about that second. The first thing you need to do is find out what the clients problem is, what their need is, or the gap between what they have and what they want.

Always Always ask questions and always be up front with answers.

I work from home. It originally started with my typical 9-5 job that I had. We were moving and they wanted to keep me so we worked out a way to work remote. I'm about to lose that job but really want to stay at home with the kids especially since we are homeschooling.

My husband and I are both looking for online tutoring and teaching jobs. There are lots of them out there.

I also wrote a book and am hoping that will take off and I'll be able to stay at home with the kids.

In some ways, an information-rich Web site is really a good way for us to earn money, you could not strictly abide by the work hours. The most important is that if you have family or child, you will have flexible time to take good care of them!

I like work at home, but it is hard for me. Because it is not stable, just sometimes help some people do data entry.

Angela, office support is very broad. If you document what you did in the office and your particular area of expertise you may have better luck for instance, answer telephone, typist, accounting, bookkeeping; that sort of thing.

It may be helpful if you take a look at the Department of Labor's Dictionary of Occupational Titles so you can pinpoint all that comes under office support, sometimes we forget everything we do just note what you actually did. See this title and what it entails: office support, etc. you do not have to buy the CD rom offered just read the job specs for CLERK, GENERAL (clerical) alternate titles: office clerk, routine. Your site should tell people exactly what you can do for them point by point and why they should hire you. I used to use the DOT book and found it very helpful.
