Das, Pali....Sanskrit....I am not sure.....  I just learnt them this way, and recite them to the best of my ability. Incidentally, I once read a book by a Zen Master - I forget her name, (for it was a female, but you're hadly going to call her a 'Mistress' are you....?!) - who stated that if you learn a mantra in its original language, unless your pronunciation is absolutely spot-on, the mantra will be meaningless.... I personally do not subscribe to this opinion. I think anything recited with good, honourable and sincere intention, will do its work... If it comes from the heart, it can't fail to do good. Just be mindful of your present moment when you recite. That's all. At least, that's what I think.
