Greetings all! I love doing melt and pour soaps. I have tried different ones in fragrances to match seasons or holidays. I am settling on a regular set of soap and scents though.

A light lavender scent works well for a general use bar but doesn't seem very masculine. Maybe I need two? What would be a good scent for men?

Lavender is pretty feminine. However, to make it a more masculine scent you could add - oakmoss. This is a classic blend for many men's perfumes. Also Lavender with sandalwood or patchouli or vetiver will give a masculine note to most blends.

hi,

i am new to soap making and since essential oils are so expensive, i decided to start out with two. lavender and patcholi cuz i can use them separately or together. i may get a citrus if i can swing it as well. cuz i want to make shampoo. I am starting out with stuff for me and my family plus my dog and horses. then depending, I may start and make my own bases and sell the soaps. i am gonna use the name of organic goddess. what do yinz think?

Seeing you on your horse makes me wish I still had my horses. I'm probably too old to ride anymore anyway. LOL! Citrus and sage is a nice masculine blend. The guys in my family and others too, like Moonlight Path from Majestic Mountain Sage and surprisingly, Black Raspberry Vanilla from Peak Candle Supply. You go Organic Goddess!
