Hello, I found this forum when looking for interprtation for my bizarre and vivid dreams, I wonder if anyone can give me any advice on good resources, books etc on dreams, my dream dictionary is very basic and not insightful!

To give you an idea, I will tell you about the dream I had last night, you may see why I feel the need to look into these dreams.

I cant remember now how it started, but I do remember that I was dreaming about a house I used to live in, I was in the kitchen with a woman, who I didnt know, and she felt out of place, there was alot of yellow in the kitchen and she held out a circular cake tin out to me, I feel she wanted to take it or use it and I was cross with her. The bottom of the tin was missing, and I told her it was my best tin and she was to put it back.

There were cats everywhere, on the units, climbing out of the window, this is when I realised that we were actually upstairs, which was weird because this house had been a bungalow, on one floor. I remember thinking I must get to where ever it was I was meant to be going, and went to leave.

I climbed out of the window and slid down a triangle roof, yellow, to the floor, where my bed was waiting in a shelter with a window and only two walls, it was attached to the house.
outside the shelter was a green grassy mound in front of the house.
To get to where I wanted I had to go to sleep, in the bed was a couple of cats, so I climbed in and they told me that I had to fall to sleep to travel.
I lay down and shut my eyes, falling asleep as I woke up in reality.

my dreams are often like this, they make no sense, are not about anything real, often with strangers in.

anyway, thanks in advance for any help you can give.

In life do you ever feel that you have things to do but just can never get to them because you have so many little niggling things getting in your way and possibly telling you what to do even though what ever it is seems to be absurd? Like using the damp dishtowl in your hand to wipe up a spill while someone else insists upon using a perfectly clean one from upstairs?

Yellow is jealousy, friendship, hope (yellow ribbons for troop support), happiness, cowardice, caution, amongst others.

Green is go, money, new, fresh, renewal, growth, jealousy, spring, or envy.

Cats have long held a reputation for being part of the fairy realm, used as familiars by witches and as conveyors of lessons and messages (puss in boots & the cheshire cat). They also do most of their 'work' at night which may be the connection to going to sleep to get where you need to go.

As for the woman you are mad atmaybe next time you have a dream similar to this one you should take the tin. see whats inside. perhaps she is the crone, again with a lesson for you to learn.

In the end, with your open bed, cats, and having to sleep in order to travel I say that maybe you need to look into lucid dreaming a little bit, see if any info you find on it rings true for you.
