Sorry for the slightly off-topic post, but I love sharing the books I read.

I love Shirley Jackson ("The Haunting of Hill House.") She is so eclectic in her writing. I am now reading "Life Among the Savages" which is a fictionalized account of her marriage and raising four children.

She is so incredibly funny in this book - you HAVE to read it. The children are hilarious! Reminds me of "Cheaper By the Dozen" to some extent.

Anyway, I am thoroughly enjoying it (one of the daughters has seven make-believe friends who go everywhere with her, even the store, and she addresses them constantly.)

It seems like a very real account of being a mom - the good and the bad. Interesting, funny, insightful - I love Shirley Jackson.

Another good one is "We Have Always Lived in the Castle" - very psychological. OH, and "The Sundial." Really good, too.
