Well, if this isn't a coincidence, except i don't believe in coincidences.

I just shot a tv show, for a film production company last Tuesday on ghosts in Theatres, specifically The Royal Alexandra Theatre, which turns 100 this year (Toronto Canada).

If the documentary makes it to the History Channel, I will let you know when it airs.

Theatre people are superstitious to begin with. And the other day on Regis and Kelly, i could NOT believe Regis, on introducing Shakespearean actor, Patrick Stewart, actually said, He is opening in Mac __________ and he said the name! Instead of saying "That Scottish Play."

I almost dropped my coffee cup and had a heart attack at the same time.

Kelly caught it. Hope Reeg didn't jinx the play.

There is an old Opera House in Virginia City, NV that reportedly is haunted by a female opera singer and also by the people from the past who sat in the balcony. It is said that one can hear the whisperings and laughter of these people, especially the children.

As a matter of fact, the whole town is haunted and sightings of ghosts are quite common. I have seen one myself in the old hotel. It was a woman in a night dress walking past the window. She has been seen by many people.

The original theater on the campus of Notre Dame University in South Bend IN (Yes, THAT Notre Dame!)was said to be haunted by the ghost of The Gipper, who had lived in the upper floor of the theater until his untimely death.
I appeared in many productions in that theater and am sorry to say that I never had any meetings with The Gipper, but there WERE bats flying around and many eerie creaks and groans as the old building shifted after the sun went down. It would have been easy to get spooked!

All of the emotion that goes on in a theater, etc - all of the energy. Hard for "people" to leave the place....

Speaking of Regis, I just read in a book published in 1979, called "Haunted Houses" by Winer and Osborn that "Regis Philbin, a gentleman from a local television station, once saw the apparition of a woman.....he thought was the likeness of Anna Whaley, Thomas Whaley's wife" at the Whaley House in San Diego...evidently before he became known nationally. I just thought that was kind of interesting.

Have any of you heard of the "Bell Witch". It is quite spooky. She promised to return every 100 years, I think. You can type in "The Bell Witch" on internet search and read about her.

My daughter and grandson and son and their father are going to visit Alcatraz Island off the coast of San Francisco sometime this summer. That place is really haunted! And Winchester Mystery House in Campbell, CA is very haunted also. Now that place is really astounding. Sylvia Brown has been there to try and talk one ghost in to leaving the premises.

I just love the story about the Bell Witch! My mom is really interested in that story too.

I visited Alcatraz with my exhusband and son many years ago. It was really cool. I'm sure it is haunted also....though the most immediate noticeable thing was the smell of urine when you get off the little boat! I would love to spend the night there sometime!

I went to Winchester Mystery House years ago when I was pregnant with my son, but didn't notice anything that felt haunted. I was with my father who was visiting, though, and as I hadn't seen him in years, my focus was probably on that and morning sickness (which lasted 24/7 for the entire pregnancy!)

Hi Ladies, Deena, i have herd of Mrs. Whaley but didn't know Reeg had spotted her.

The Winchester House was featured on Unsolved Mysteries years ago. It fascinates me how Mrs. W. kept building onto the house. And the idea that the Spirits of the Dead, who were killed by the Winchester rifle came back to haunt her, still spooks me!

I wouldn't want riches from Blood Money.

It would bother my soul and my conscience.

Paranormal researchers/investigators have been to Alcatraz to do testing for sightings, noises, strange occurences and have said they definitely saw and heard strange things. There is no actual proof, only what the "experts" say. They did get some recordings using the white noise technique and they played these recordings on an Art Bell show. When they slowed down the tapes, you could hear different "spirits" saying things. For instance, in one long holding cell where they had kept groups of prisoners waiting for some reason, you could hear one "ghost" saying, "They made us sit back to back." I don't see that as proof of anything, but it was a tense show. I would have to see and hear things myself before saying it was real. Anyway, it makes a good story to add to the haunting aspect of Alcatraz.
