BellaOnline Forums Health and Fitness Miscarriage Are periods after miscarriage suppose to hurt?

I had a miscarriage on Valentine's Day and my hormone levels indicated that I had fully miscarried on Febraury 26th. My doctor gave my agystine to hep my start my regular cycle again and after taking it I only had a "period" for a day and a half. On April 1st I started bleeding and it really hurts. I have such severe pain that makes it hard to breath and it makes me nauseous to the point where I can't eat. Is this normal?? Or could something be wrong? I haven't had a normal period that I'm 100% sure was normal since December. (The last time I had sex was on Jan. 1 and that's when I got pregnant, but had what seemed like a normal period Jan. 24). My insurance doesn't cover much, so I don't want to go to see my doctor unless I seriously have to.

Every ones body is different but i had 4 d&c's and then a natural miscarriage and my periods got really nasty afterwards as well full cramping for a few hours like a miscarriage then passing large clots it was so exhausting every month.I kept telling the doctor they said nothings wrong after 8 months i couldnt take it anymore and demanded ultrasound. Some said i had left over baby.They admitted me to hospital straight away for another D&C , my gyno said it was a inflamed cervix that was causing the problems. But i definately know it stemed from the natural miscarriage so get checked out even in the public system just to be sure. Good Luck.
