BellaOnline Forums Home and Garden Birds lovebirds not producing

I currently have 14 lovebirds (7 sets) which I have had for 4 months and range in age from 16months to 7 years and they have been DNAcertified to be male and female (and that really put a dent in the wallet <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> ) Now, the problem that I am having is none of the birds are producing , they have 2 nest boxes per cage, Plenty of perches, fresh water and seeds everyday and there cages are 4�x4x4. I find it odd to have 7 sets of proven lovebirds and having no production. Is there anything that I can do to help in the process of producing? Thank you

It sounds like you've done everything right except that maybe the individual pairs are just not compatible. Did you purchase them as "pairs" that have previously produced? Or, did you purchase 7 males & 7 females & make up the pairs yourself? Are the pairs getting along ok - or are they doing some fighting?
