We just adopted a one and 1/2 month old love bird from an irresponsible breeder. The lady had a mated pair and about 15 babies flying around her studio apartment. We heard about this from a friend and decided to take one of the babies. We've named her Darby and she is as cute as can be. I need info on how to go about taming this wild beast. She'll let me hold her without biting, and is getting more comfortable with me up against her cage. . . . what should I do next? I've clipped her wings (we've had a tame lovebird, and several parakeets before so I know basic bird care). Is there any hope that she'll be tame? Any suggestions will help.

Since this is a very young bird, you should be able to tame her. It will take a lot of time & patience because lovebirds are probably the most difficult to tame if they are parent raised, but it can be done. Since she is already letting you hold her without biting, you've already come a long way. Those lovebird bites can be painful. My suggestion would be to just keep doing what you are doing - spending time with her - holding her - offering treats from your hand - talking to her and possibly to consider clicker training - Clicker Train Your Bird. Good luck & have fun with your bird.
