I need major help! I'm doing an analysis on a poem called Night by Louise Bogan and I just do not get this poem at all. Can you please do a line by line analysis for me? i desperately need this help. Here is how it goes.

heres some extra info its like the background info. You should read this before you analyze poem. THANKS AGAIN!
The power of the sea pulses throughout the lives of the villagers in the novel, for the sea gives both life and death. At the novel's conclusion, Remedios ( A character in the book A Place Where the Sea Remembers) waits patiently at the seashore, contemplating the mysteries of life as the sun sets slowly. In the following poem, the speaker reflects, upon the mysterious and powerful rythms of the sea

Night
by Louise Bogan

The Cold remote islands
And the blue estuaries
Where what breathes, breathes
The restless wind of the inlets
And what drinks, drinks
The incoming tide;

Where shell and weed
Wait upon the salt wash of the sea,
And the clear nights of stars
Swing their lights westward
To set behind the land;

Where the clinging to the rocks
Renews itself forever;
Where, again on cloudless nights,
The water reflects
the firmament's partial setting;

-O remember
In your narrowing dark hours
That more things move
Than blood in the heart.

After a quick read through, I would say that the general theme of the poem relates to realizing that the universe is bigger than any one of us or humanity as a whole. The sea, a constant, continues its tidal cycle with or without us. By remaining anchored to nature, we can keep perspective about the world.

Who wrote the introductory material? Even if it wasn't the poet, it's no coincidence that this person wrote that the sea "pulses" through their lives. Look for the parallel in the last stanza.

To get more into the poem, I would recommend focusing on the natural imagery and the 's' sounds. I also recommend the article "Principles of Analyzing Sound in Poetry" to help looking as the 's' and other sounds.

I hope that's enough to get you on the path.
