I don't know how to describe this but sometimes when I tat, the thread from the shuttle often becomes twisted, and I had to let the shuttle hang until it spins out the twist in the thread. And I noticed that some thread have a higher tendency for this than others.

What I would like to know is, how can I find out if a certain thread is prone to this twisting or not. Any response is most appreciated.

The twisting you have described is normal with any thread, and letting the shuttle hang is exactly what every shuttle tatter needs to do occasionally while working. Actually, a thread with a higher twist is preferred for tatting, since it makes the picots neater in appearance.
