Thanks for the handfasting info. My beloved and I are finally doing our handfasting on May 5th. Yea I know May isn't good for handfastings but we were introduced on May 5 2002, got back together after a short break up on May 5th, and this May 5th will mark out 5th year of knowing each other......soooo many 5's

I think doing what works for you and your beloved is the best course when it comes to handfasting and weddings.

I have some friends that are getting handfasted on the most popular wedding day this year, July 7th, which is 07/07/07. Apparently that day is booked to capacity and beyond all over the US for weddings and wedding services.

Handfasting is such a beautiful custom. I wished more people would look into it. I had a friend who just recently did a dual "wedding". She did the traditional "wedding" and then did a handfasting with her partner. It was quite beautiful.

We had a double wedding too. We went to court for the official papers and legal vows, and then we organised our celebration ceremony, which was held outdoors at twilight. I wrote the entire ceremony myself with input from my hubby and we wrote our own vows. We liked the idea of our good friends being a part of our union, so we involved them symbolically incorporating the elements of fire, water, earth, and air. It was so lovely.

I didn't even think about the 7/7/07 thing. But then again, good luck getting a hotel for that week LOL
