hi donna sorry to hear about your loss. when im breeding my finches i just leave them alone and let nature take its course. i give them the foods they need when they are breeding but just let them get on with it. parents know when something is wrong with the eggs or babies or they are weak and they reject them by pushing them away or out of the nest then they can concentrate on the stronger ones. this is quite normal, sometimes the parents just get a bad clutch, the parents know best for their chicks let me know what happens in the future
