Does anyone know what steps to take to become an Esthetician? Is there a school exclusively for estheticians? What are the licensing requirements (specifically for the state of Texas)?

Thank you!
Sarah

For Facial/Esthetician, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation requires students to complete a course or work lasting about 750 clock hours or about 9 months. There are many schools (including community colleges) that offer these courses.

Licensing information is available from TDLR online at www.tdlr.state.tx.us.

Best of luck to you!

Hey Sarah! Congrats on your interest in esthetics! I'm an esthetician and went to school and was licensed in Illinois. We had to complete 750 hours as well. If you have any questions about anything to do with the field, definitely feel free to ask!

All the best to you!

Leah

For those who may tune in here and want to know: would either of you care to define an "esthetician"? Not heavy, just a rounded idea.
