I've read the whole Dune series and although Frank Herbert's writing style (and his son's) took some getting used to, it's a great story. I was wondering if anyone else had read the series as well and what you thought?

I have read the ones Frank Herbert wrote but not any of the ones his son has written (although I have heard those are good too). I agree his style takes a little to get used to and there are so many details that I would forget some things from one book to the next. I did enjoy them though.

You might want to give the son's continued story a try. His writing is similar to his fathers, but easier to digest. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I read the first four books of the classic DUNE series and I devoured DUNE I and Children of Dune. If you want to read a great book try The Road to Dune. The first story is Spice Planet, an easier alternative read to Dune. I love it so far.

I've been thinking about picking up The Road to DUne when I had a chance.
