i am a undergraduate and was looking around for research topics and the question of whether personality can affect body image sounds very interesting. May I ask what indirect sources have you found?

The only thing I could find was that people with poor body image have the "negative" personality traits I listed. Psychosomaticmedicine.org provided some information - that was pretty much all I could find. It's a fascinating topic, but it doesn't seem to be terribly well-researched - or documented - yet.

Have you found anything else?

You could try the body image topics on various psychology sites, like American Psych Association and Mental Health Net.

Our body image is part of our personality. Am I right?

Not me. I always have found that weird since I am either always depressed or insulting myself if it's not both and for some strange reason I have never insulted or felt depressed due to how I look. I do find myself ugly but it does not affect me at all and I have never looked at myself in disgust.
